INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Following his performances in two Cleveland State victories last weekend, Viking senior Phil Orno has been named the Horizon League Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

The league office made the announcement late Tuesday (Feb. 16) evening.

"This is a well-deserved honor for Phil," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "He went out and played great tennis over the weekend and really dominated his opponents. He never let them in the match and it was great to see that instinct from him right out of the gate."

Orno is the third straight CSU player to earn league player of the week honors, joining Ryan Hamning (Feb. 2) and Yannick Goossens (Feb. 9).

Orno, a native of Snekkersten, Denmark, went 4-0 on the weekend with two wins at No. 1 singles and two more at No. 1 doubles. He posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at IPFW on Friday and 6-0, 6-1 win at Dayton on Saturday. Orno also teamed with Ryan Hamning to register an 8-4 win over IPFW and 8-0 triumph at Dayton.

The Vikings are back in action two times this weekend when CSU heads to Milwaukee, Wis., for two matches, beginning with a 2:30 p.m. contest against Villanova on Saturday (Feb. 20). CSU will also play at Marquette on Sunday (Feb. 21) at 4:00 p.m.
