CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's tennis team will close out its four-match roadswing this weekend, traveling to Wisconsin for two matches. The Vikings will begin the weekend with a non-league contest against Marquette at 1:00 p.m. EST on Saturday (April 6), before facing Green Bay at 11:00 a.m. EST on Sunday (April 7).

Against Marquette: The Vikings have only faced Marquette once under head coach Brian Etzkin, dropping a 5-2 match to the Golden Eagles during the 2009-10 season. Marquette stands at 9-10 this season and has won just one out of its last five matches. MU owns a 2-0 mark against Horizon League teams this season - defeating Valparaiso (7-0) and Green Bay (4-3).

Against Green Bay: The Vikings have posted an 8-6 record against Green Bay over the past 10 seasons, but have dropped two straight matches against the Phoenix going into this weekend. The Phoenix stand at 12-6 overall this spring and 2-0 in league play - entering the weekend on a three-match win streak and will face Youngstown State prior to Sunday's contest.

The Vikings, who enter the weekend on a three-match win streak, currently stand at 6-9 this season and 2-0 in league play. Last time out, CSU picked up a pair of 4-3 victories over Duquesne and Youngstown State. Matt Kuelker and Ali Shabib each went 2-0 in singles play last weekend, while Nolan Marks and Jorg van der Vloet also picked up singles wins.

For his two singles victories and 2-0 mark in doubles play, Shabib was named the Horizon League Player of the Week on Tuesday (April 2) - earning the honor for the second time this season. Shabib picked up his two doubles wins with classmate Niklas Jonsson at the No. 1 spot, improving their overall record to 19-5 this season and 8-3 this spring.

Entering Saturday's match at Marquette, Kuelker and Shabib have each won their last three singles matches - with Kuelker owning a team-best 14-11 record this season and Shabib second on the team with an 11-13 record. Kuelker, who currently ranks seventh on the all-time singles wins list at CSU with 52 victories, needs just one more singles win to move into sixth on the all-time list.

The trio of Kuelker, Shabib and Nolan Marks own perfect 2-0 singles records in league play so far this season, while Shabib has now won five straight regular season singles matches against league opponents (dating back to April 15, 2012).
