Former CSU wrestler Anthony Coleman enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Vikings after spending last season as a graduate assistant coach.

Prior to his return to CSU, Coleman spent two years accumulating coaching experience for Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina and with the CSU Vikings.

During the 2005-06 season at Limestone as an assistant coach, Coleman signed 15 student athletes and designed the "Mat Talk" seasonal newsletter which is still being used by the program today.

He then joined the Viking coaching staff as a graduate assistant and was successful in signing 12 student athletes and developed a Sports Psychology Training Manual for Wresting.

Coleman, who won 88 matches during his Vikings career, was a two-time NCAA qualifier. He competed at the NCAA championship at 149 pounds as a junior in 2003, and at 141 his senior year. He won 49 matches in those two seasons and won a match at the 2004 NCAA Championship.

In addition, he earned CSU's Most Outstanding Wrestler Award as a redshirt freshman in 2001.

Coleman won a state championship in Ohio at Bellevue High School in 1999 and placed eighth at the high school nationals.

He received a bachelor's degree in communication from Cleveland State in 2004 and is currently pursuing his master's in sports management at CSU.
