Bloomsburg, Pa. - Marcus Effner won his second match in two days as he paced the Vikings with teammate Mike Mencini as they fell at Bloomsburg, 38-7 in their third EWL meet of the season. CSU is now 0-3 in the EWL and 2-13 overall this season.

"Effner is really starting to come around for us and step up in big matches," head coach Ben Stehura said. "Everyone is putting their best efforts out on the mat and I'm proud of that. We just need to keep our heads up and keep working hard in practice for next weekend's meet."

Mencini was the first Viking to put points on the board, posting a 14-3 major decision over Ian De Sol in the 141 pound weight class for his fifth victory of the season. During the first period Mencini turned a near takedown by De Sol into a takedown of his own and added a three-point near fall to take a 5-0 lead going into the second period.

During the second period Mencini had another three-point near fall before De Sol would close the gap with a takedown of his own, ending the period with a score of 8-3.

In the third Mencini had a takedown and a three-point near fall and added riding time for a major decision victory of 14-3.

Effner recorded a 4-3 decision over Mike Dessino in the 174 weight class for his 11th victory of the season. Effner scored a last second takedown for the only scoring of the first period, before Dessino started the second period with an escape before Effner got a second takedown to lead 4-1 after two periods.

The only scoring in the third period was a point for Dessino for Effner stalling, with Effner going on to a 4-2 win.

The Vikings return to action on Saturday, February 6 when they host Edinboro for a 5:00 p.m. meet in Woodling Gymnasium.
