St. Louis, MO - In his second round match, senior Rashard Goff was edged out 3-2 by Missouri heavyweight Mark Ellis in front of 15, 851 fans in the Scott Trade Center.

After battling to a scoreless tie after the first period, Ellis was able to get the first points of the contest with a reversal to begin the second period and gain a 2-0 advantage.

The two familiar heavyweights continued to battle throughout the second period, until Goff scored his first point of the match to cut the Ellis lead in half at 2-1.

In the final two minutes, Goff was able to add another one point escape to even the match at two.

While trying to gain top position, Goff was called for a costly stalling penalty that gave Ellis a 3-2 lead, which was just enough to give him a one point victory.

Thus far, Goff has a 1-1 record and will be back in action on Friday (3/20), needing to win his first match to stay in contention.
