EAST LANSING, Mich. - Sophomore Jordan Keller won the 125 pound weight class and Corey Carlo placed third in the 157 pound division to lead Cleveland State at the Michigan State Open on Sunday.

Keller began the open with a 10-0 major decision over Nick Weisjahn of Findlay and then defeated Andrew Ruettiger of Northern Illinois, 4-0, to advance to the semifinals.

Keller continued his run with a 3-0 win over Central Michigan's Christian Cullinan before knocking off Izzy Montemayor of Northern Illinois, 6-5, in the finals.

Carlo began his run by defeating Michigan State's Anthony Jones, 7-6, before falling into the consolation bracket with a 7-4 setback to Brian Deutsch of Northern Illinois.

However, Carlo rallied to win two more matches, including a 7-3 decision over Clay Tucker of Ohio in the consolation final, to capture third place.

CSU opens its home schedule on Thursday (Nov. 22) when the Vikings host Eastern Michigan at 7:00 p.m. in Woodling Gym. It will be the first dual match for the Vikings this season.
