"It was important for us to get off to a quick start tonight," head coach Ben Stehura said. "John Carroll has a very strong program, but we pulled together and did what we needed to do get the win."

With John Carroll threatening, team captain JT Miller stepped up and earned an 8-0 major decision victory against Nick Morin. After holding onto a slim 2-0 lead entering the third period, Miller took control earning six points to give the Vikings a 19-10 lead.

After a Viking loss, John Carroll narrowed the gap to just two points (19-17), with the final match between Rashard Goff and Tim Lambert. Goff continued his hot streak tallying four takedowns within the first two periods, before pinning Lambert at 4:47 giving him his ninth win of the young season.

"Tonight was a big win for us, our guys continue to gain confidence with each match," Stehura said. "We will continue working hard in the practice room and prepare for next week's open."
