Cleveland, OH - The Woodling Gymnasium on the campus of Cleveland State University played host to the fourth annual CSU Open on Sunday (12/14), which included 250 wrestlers overall. The open was the Vikings first home action of the season.

"It was a great day of wrestling, we had seven mats of continuous action all day," head coach Ben Stehura said. "Our fans got a chance to see quality wrestlers from the eastern part of the country.

Dan Castillo posted a solid 3-2 record leading the way for the Vikings. After a first round loss, Castillo battled back to win his next three matches, two of which by major decision.

"These open tournaments give our younger guys a great opportunity for live wrestling, " head coach Ben Stehura said. "We've had a tough week with finals, but we stayed focused and when it was time to wrestle we performed well."

The Vikings will return to action on Friday, December 19, 2008, when they travel to Lewisburg, Pa to compete in the Bucknell Quad. CSU will compete against Wagner, Drexel and host Bucknell, action is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
