One of the top floor generals in Cleveland State history, Juli Grant is in her second season as an assistant coach at her alma mater. She will aid in recruiting and scouting duties while working with the team’s frontcourt. In addition, she serves as the team travel coordinator. Grant played for the Vikings from 1995-2000, directing CSU to the Midwestern Collegiate Conference title game her senior season. Her final year she finished 15th in the nation with 6.1 assists per game. Quite possibly the best game of Grant’s career came in the 2000 MCC Quarterfinals when she tallied 19 points, eights assists, seven steals and five three pointers. Her effort helped the seventh-seeded Vikings upset No. 2 UW-Milwaukee and started CSU on its tourney run. Grant started 113 games — more than anyone in school history — and ranks among the career leaders in assists (612 - 2nd), steals (206 - 5th) and three-point field goals (87 - 10th). Prior to returning to CSU, Grant served as the graduate assistant at Central Michigan University for the 2000-01 season. While with the Chippewas, her responsibilities included film exchange, scouting, individual instruction and recruiting. "We are excited to have Juli back in the CSU women's basketball family," Burns said. "She is a great addition to the staff because she spent five years running the offense and has a wonderful personality." Grant currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio and is working towards the completion of her Master’s degree in Athletic Administration. |
