Wednesday's game marked Winton's 27th double-digit scoring game of the season and the 12th time that Coleman has notched at least 10 points. Haley Schmitt tied her career-high with six points against the Titans on two field goals and a pair of free-throws while she also notched an assist and a steal. Tess Zufall and Kiersten Green each added three points for the Vikings, while Takima Keane and Janelle Adams posted two each.
Detroit got out to an early lead during the first half and dominated play throughout the opening stanza. The Titans held Cleveland State scoreless for a 13-minute span stretching over both halves, as they gained a 25-point advantage (36-11) in the opening minutes of the second half. The Vikings were able to post two runs during the final 20 minutes of play, a 6-0 run that started at the 11:32 mark and a 5-0 run in the final seconds of the game. CSU's first run included four points from Schmitt, while Winton combined for three points over the second run. The Titans had five players finish in double-figures, led by Shareta Brown with 19. Jalesa Jones (15), Lauren Allen (13), Megan Hatter (12) and Chanahl Putnam (10) also tallied double-digits for Detroit. |
