Vikings Move Up To 17th in Mid-Major Top 25

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's basketball team moved up six spots to 17th in this week's Mid Major Top 25 poll that was released on Tuesday (Dec. 7) afternoon.

The Vikings received 258 points in the poll.

CSU has raced out to a 6-1 start this season, marking the second best start through seven games in school history. Playing just one game last week, the Vikings knocked off Western Michigan at home, 66-55.

Horizon League member Green Bay received 30 of the 31 first place votes to top the poll and is the only other team from the Horizon League in the top-25.

Bowling Green received the other first place vote and is second, followed by Florida Gulf Coast, Princeton and Gonzaga to round out the top five.

The women's Mid-Major Top 25 is comprised of teams from the America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt and West Coast Conference.

The next poll will be released on Dec. 14.

The Vikings are back in action on Saturday (Dec. 11) when the Vikings travel to Akron for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
