JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Cleveland State finished 15th at the Butler North/South Intercollegiate in its opening tournament of the spring season. Jacksonville won the 18-team event at the 5,835-yard, par 72 Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.

Jacksonville carded a 622 to edge Northern Iowa and Bethune-Cookman by just two strokes. The Vikings turned in a 671.

Jackson State's Shasta Averyhardt fired rounds of 73-72 (145) to earn medalist honors, out-distancing Wofford's Erin Wells and Evansville's Crissy Higgins by three strokes. Mallory Wyderka paced CSU with a 162.

Cleveland State returns to action on March 19-20 at the Butler Spring Invitational at Broadmore Country Club in Indianapolis.
