ROCK HILL, S.C. - Playing shorthanded with just four players, the Cleveland State women's golf squad shot a final round 342 at the Winthrop Invitational on Sunday morning at Rock Hill C.C.

The Vikings opened the tournament with rounds of 358 and 359 and finished 10th of 12 teams at the tournament.

"I was very pleased with the way we bounced back and played today," assistant coach Nathan Miklos said. "We played a solid round today and started to put some things together. Our short game still needs some work, but hopefully this is something we can build on as the season progresses.

"Its always hard when you are playing short handed because you know that your score is going to count. That leaves little room for error. But everyone played well today."

Brittany Keiter, who played in the first two rounds of the tournament, was held out today due to a sore back. Therefore, all four scores counted for CSU.

Katie Broere once again paced the Vikings with a 79. That gave her a three round total of 243 (84-80-79).

"Katie was great again today and had a phenomenal tournament," Mikos said.

Mallory Wyderka shot an 86 today, while Laren Beese (88) and Kim Dulski (89) rounded out the scoring.

CSU will be back in action on March 30-31 when the Vikings compete at the Longwood Invitational.
