WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Western Michigan held off a hard-charging Methodist to win the William & Mary Invitational by two strokes. Meanwhile, Cleveland State finished 18th at the par 72, 6,030-yard Marsh Hawk course at Fords Colony.

The Broncos finished first at 617, while Methodist shot a tournament-low 293 on Sunday to nearly rally from 16 shots down. Winthrop was third at 624, while the Vikings turned in a 694.

Western Michigan's Laura Bavaird shot a 74 to finish at 146, outdistancing Methodist's Charlotte Williams and Winthrop's Sara Hester by two strokes. Mallory Wyderka was CSU's top finisher, posting a 162 to finish in a tie for 34th.

"We just couldn't get anything going today," CSU head coach Brian Varsey said. "We just need to keep working hard and focus on getting better every week."
