LEBANON, Ohio - Cleveland State freshman Katie Broere picked a fine time to record the best finish of her young career, tying for fourth at the Horizon League Championship. Butler edged out Detroit to claim its third consecutive league title at the par 72, 6,007 yard Shaker Run Golf Club. The Bulldogs, who led by two heading into the final round, wound up topping the Titans by nine strokes (1,002 - 1,011). Youngstown State was in third at 1,029, while CSU (1,032) and Loyola (1,033) rounded out the field. Butler's Paige McCracken claimed medalist honors at 246, narrowly edging out teammates Niki Garden and Lauren Showers who both finished at 247. Meanwhile, Broere and YSU's Brittany Jones were tied for fourth at 250. "We had the best showing of the year in Monday's second round and just couldn't follow it up today," CSU head coach Brian Varsey said. "It's exciting to look at our line-up and see that all five are returning next year and that four are underclassmen." Women's Team Results Women's Individual Leaders CSU Individual Women's Results
