Vikings Finish 13th at Sea Trail Intercollegiate

Sept. 23, 2002

The Cleveland State women's golfers carded a 378-359---737 at the Sea Trail Women's Intercollegiate. The Vikings finished 13th overall on the par 72 Willard Byrd Course in Sunset Beach, N.C.

Sophomore Victoria Kastl (Hinkley, Ohio/Medina) paced CSU with a 94-86---180. Her second-round score of 86 marks her best round of the season. Freshman Kristen Obush (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) finished only two strokes behind Kastl with a 96-86---182 while sophomore Carma Rieck (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) posted a 100-85---185 in two rounds.

The Elon golfers took top honors in the tournament, shooting a 313-321---634 thanks to the play of individual medallist Morgan Olds, who carded two round of 77 for her tournament-best 154

Next on the schedule for the Vikings is the Butler Women's Invitational to be held at the Eagle Creek Golf Course on September 23-24.
