Cleveland State Finishes 11th At Rocket Classic

Sept. 25, 2005 TOLEDO, Ohio - Cleveland State stood pat with a final round score of 342 to finish 11th at the Rocket Classic with a 54-hole total of 1,013. Host Toledo stormed back from a seven-shot deficit after the first day to defeat Eastern Michigan by 14 strokes (892 to 906). The 14-team field was competing at the 6,092 yard, par 72 Heather Downs Country Club. The race for medalist mirrored the team finish as Rocket Tammy Clelland carded a final round 69 to finish at two-under par, 214. EMU's Catherine Fortin had led by seven shots after 36 holes, but slipped to second place after turning in a 78 on Sunday to finish at level par (216). Kristen Obush posted a 75 to climb into a tie for 18th as CSU's top finisher at 233 (+17). The Vikings are in action again on Oct. 2-3 when they compete in the Northern Illinois Huskie Classic at Whisper Creek Golf Club. Team Results Individual Leaders Cleveland State Individuals
