Vikings Seventh At Cincinnati Fall Classic

CINCINNATI - Cleveland State finished seventh with a 691 in cold, blustery conditions at the Cincinnati Fall Classic. Toledo ran away with the team title by 15 strokes, carding a 36-hole total of 615. The 11-team field was competing at the 6,135 yard, par 72 Elks Run Golf Club. Bradley earned the second-place trophy at 630, while the host Bearcats were third at 639. Cincinnati's Hillery Wilson came from a shot back to claim medalist honors by a single stroke at 151. Toledo's Tammy Clelland was in second at 152, while Ohio's Julie Tomlinson and Cincinnati's Allison Mayborg were tied for third at 153. Kristen Obush led the Viking contingent with a 162 to finish in a tie for 17th. Ashley Davidson was tied for 26th at 171. "We just couldn't get anything going in some tough conditions today," CSU head coach Tom Porten said. "I thought we put ourselves in a good position after the opening round, but just kind of spun our wheels today. Hopefully we can close out the fall season on a high note in a couple of weeks."
