    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Cleveland State is tied with Boston University in ninth place at 345 following the opening round of the TPC at Virginia Beach Intercollegiate. Ohio shot a 314 and leads the 13-team field by six shots at the 5,852-yard, par 72 Pete Dye design. Old Dominion is hosting the tournament for the second year in a row.

    Junior Kristen Obush is tied with three other golfers in 10th place with a first-round 79. Ohio's Sara Ann Palmer and High Point's Kate O'Sullivan share the lead at the mid-way point with identical 74s. Freshman Amanda Glatfelter is tied for 34th after carding an 87.

    "I thought we competed very well today on a tough course against a strong field," CSU head coach Tom Porten said. "With the wind supposed to pick up tomorrow, I think Kristen is still in the hunt."

    Monday's final round will conclude the Vikings' fall schedule.
