INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana -- IUPUI scored three goals in the final 21 minutes, the game-winner coming just 43 seconds into overtime as Cleveland State could not hold onto a 2-0 lead, falling 3-2 in overtime on Friday night at IUPUI Field.

The loss, CSU's seventh straight, drops the Vikings to 1-8 on the year while IUPUI sets a school record by winning its seventh straight contest to improve to 7-2.

"We just ran out of steam tonight," CSU head coach Derrek Falor said. "We had everything going for us but just couldn't close out the match.

"We played very well for the first 70 minutes, controlling the tempo of the play and doing a nice job of limiting their offensive opportunities. When IUPUI scored, everything changed and we started to press a bit and got away from playing the style that helped us to build the lead.

"This is an unfortunate loss because we played so well on the road against a pretty good team. Now we need to get ready to open league play at Wright State on Sunday."

The Vikings dominated play in the opening 45 minutes, out-shooting the Jaguars 10-4. CSU got on the scoreboard in the 40th minute when sophomore Marley Greiner played a long ball into the box from 40 yards out. IUPUI netminder Jamie Ferrell hesitated coming off her line and when she finally attacked the ball, it bounced in the box and over her head and into the goal.

CSU made it 2-0 at the 65:26 mark when Natalie Daniels took a pass from Syliva Olsby and maneuvered around a pair of defenders before launching a shot that found the net from14 yards out.

IUPUI started their comeback in the 70th minute when Alicia Brooks ran onto a long ball down the left side and launched a shot that just beat Viking goalie Kelly Zinkiewich to the back post.

The Jaguars evened the match at the 75:20 mark when Natalie Holland basted a free kick from 25 yards out that just glanced off the right post and into the net.

The rest of regulation was scoreless but IUPUI wasted no time in overtime as Katrina McCrory scored from 15 yards out just 43 seconds into the extra session to give the Jaguars the win.

Zinkiewich mad seven saves in goal for CSU, helping to repel an 18 shot barrage by IUPUI while CSU had 17 shots.

CSU travels to Fairborn, Ohio to open Horizon League play on Sunday (Sept. 27) with a 3:30 p.m. match at Wright State
