CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Natalie Daniels, who leads Cleveland State in scoring this season, has been named to the All-Horizon League second team and the Horizon League All-Newcomer squads in a vote of the league coaches.

"I am happy for Natalie because her selection shows that the coaches around the league respect the performance that she gave on the field this year," CSU head coach Derrek Falor said. "She has been a leader on the field since the first day of practice and her solid play at midfield has definitely had an impact on our season."

A freshman from Olympia, Wash., Daniels enters the Horizon League Championship match at Wright State this weekend leading the team in goals (5), assists (5), shots (33) and points (15).

Her play was never better than last weekend when she assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime to give CSU a 2-1 win over Youngstown State on Friday (Oct. 24). She came back on Sunday to score the first goal in a 2-0 upset of Butler, a victory that allowed the Vikings to set a school record for highest league finish ever when CSU moved into sixth place.

Cleveland State opens the Horizon League Championship as the No. 6 seed, traveling to third-seeded Wright State for a 1:00 p.m. match on Sunday (Nov. 2). CSU and Wright State play through two overtime periods to a scoreless tie during the regular season on Sept. 26 at Krenzler Field.
