Kala Allred grew as a pitcher during her freshman season in 2008 and Angie Nicholson is looking for that development to continue again this spring, allowing her to make more of an impact in the pitching unit for the Vikings. A powerful thrower with a wide variety of pitches, expect her to battle for the spot as the No. 2 starter in the circle.

2008 - FRESHMAN SEASON
Recorded five starts in five appearances on the mound with a 2-1 record...threw 22.1 innings for a 3.45 ERA with 29 hits and 16 runs allowed...struck out 13 batters...season-high five strikeouts vs. Farleigh Dickinson (3/15) in seven innings of work, allowing four hits.
