Jessica Burt's is the spark that gets the Vikings going, both offensively and defensively, but her contributions on the field will have to wait until the 2010 campaign after the junior outfielder suffered a season-ending knee injury during the opening days of the spring. Her speed and instincts allow her to play at all three of the outfield spots while her aggressiveness at the plate makes her a perfect lead-off hitter as she finds a way to get on base and advance the runners.

2008 - SOPHOMORE SEASON
Starter in all 49 games...hit .294 with 40 hits, six doubles, four triples, three homeruns, 19 RBI and 13 stolen bases...tied for team lead with four triples which was 41st among NCAA Division I players...Horizon League Player of the Week (4/21) and named to Horizon League All-Tournament Team in outfield...ranked among leaders in Horizon League triples (tied 3rd, 4)...five-game hit streak from 4/19 to 4/23...three-hit games twice, vs. Rider (3/14) and Youngstown State (4/15)...homeruns against Rider (3/14), St. Francis (4/17) and UIC (4/20).

2007 - FRESHMAN SEASON
Starter in 43 games...hit .297 with 41 hits, four doubles, 19 RBI and 9 stolen bases...upped mark to .386 (17-44) with four doubles, six RBI, and four stolen bases in league action...led team with four triples and 12 sacrifice bunts...hit a homerun and drove in three runs against Army (3/11)...went 3-for-4 with one RBI and a pair of runs scored at UIC (4/29).

HIGH SCHOOL
Earned first team Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School All-America and first team All-Ohio accolades after leading squad to 2006 Division II state title...recorded a school-record .633 average (57-90) -- 12th-best in state annals -- while going 4-2 with a pair of saves and a 0.96 ERA in the circle...second team All-Ohio selection in 2005, going 5-1 with a 1.35 ERA while batting .526...team posted a 111-13 record during her four years, advancing to the state semifinals in 2005 and into the state title game her sophomore season...three-time all-district, all-conference and all-county pick.

Born Dec. 23, 1987...daughter of Pierce and Debbie Burt...has an older brother, Marc...her cousin, Justin Coston, won three national titles as a member of the Mount Union football team from 1999-03...National Honor Society...psychology and communications major.
