After emerging as one of the top freshman in the Horizon League last year, Katelyn Ciminelli will be counted on to play an even larger role in the Vikings' success this spring. The incumbent starter at first base, she may also be used as a DP at times this year, batting somewhere toward the top of the second half of the lineup. Her free-swinging at the plate allows her to be one of the better run producers for the Vikings.

2008 - FRESHMAN SEASON
Starter in 33 of 36 games played...hit .274 with 26 hits, seven doubles, two homeruns and 20 RBI...named to Horizon League's All-Newcomer team and All-Tournament team as first baseman...RBI double scored game-winning run vs. Loyola (4/27)...homeruns vs. Butler (4/6) and Youngstown State (4/15)...tallied two doubles in 2-for-4 performance with an RBI vs. Green Bay (5/8)...two three-game hit streaks during season.

HIGH SCHOOL
First team All-Michigan pick as a senior, hitting .639 with 53 hits, four homeruns, and 29 runs...earned all-state honorable mention honors as a junior...conference player of the year after junior campaign...two-time league champion...four-time all-district selection.
