Amy Powell is ready to continue her collegiate career. A power-hitting catcher, she will battle for playing time behind the plate again this year while also being capable of helping out at several other positions. A Horizon League All-Newcomer team choice last season, her playing time will most likely depend on whether she is able to build on her freshman campaign and show improvements in batting average and power.

2008 - FRESHMAN SEASON
Starter in 39 of 40 games she played...hit .250 with 25 hits, four doubles, five homeruns and 12 RBI...led team with five homeruns...named to Horizon League All-Newcomer Team...ranked among leaders in Horizon League runners picked off (tied 2nd with 2)...went 2-for-3 with two homeruns and four RBI vs. Toledo (4/23)...three-game hit streak from 4/3 to 4/5.

HIGH SCHOOL
Gatorade All-American...first team all-conference honors...hit .408, with 29 hits, 13 doubles, and 17 runs batted in during senior season...holds single season school records for doubles (11), homeruns (4), RBI's (34), and batting average (.491).
