DAYTON, Ohio - Cleveland State women's swimming and diving team fell by a score of 127-86 to Horizon League power Wright State in a dual meet at WSU Natatorium in Dayton, Ohio.

Despite the loss, there was plenty of positives to take from the day, as senior diver Trish Simon scored her first victory of the season in the 1-meter dive against some of the toughest competition the Vikings will see this year.

"We are very happy with Trish's performance today," assistant coach Andrew Hancock said, "For her to do so well against Wright State is excellent preparation for the league championship."

Kristine Bunker also had a standout performance for the Vikings, as she scored some of her top times in events that she participated in.

In all it was a tough day for the Vikings going up against last year's third place finishing team at the Horizon League championship, but the final score is not the true measure of success in a late season meet such as today's event.

"We are focusing on gettin ready for the Horizon League championship and NCAAs," Hancock said, "We were pleased with how the team did today and we are making progress on our goals this season."

Cleveland State returns home next weekend for a dual meet against Niagara on Jan. 26, 2008 at Busbey Natatorium. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. EST.
