DAYTON, OH - The women's swimming and diving team is in a bit of a slide, having lost three of its last five. The Vikings received strong performances from seniors Georgian Peric (Euclid, Ohio/Euclid) and Audrey Gray (South Euclid, Ohio/Brush) on Saturday at Wright State, but lost 131-81.

The team now stands at 7-5, which is still an improvement from last year's 5-8 mark.

Peric won the 200-yard breaststroke in Dayton, swimming a 2:35.41. The senior co-captain also swam on the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:44.19).

Gray, who also swam on the winning relay team, grabbed first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.93) and third in the 200-yard IM (2:16.45).

Joining Peric and Gray on the relay were freshman Helene Vorster (Senekal, South Africa/Oranje Girls School) and sophomore Jen Catton (Tecumseh, Ontario/Belle River).

Vorster also took a second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.24).

Freshman Jamie Burkhart did her best to help the Vikings, taking second in the 1-meter diving event. Burkhart scored a 152.63.

The women will be back in action this Saturday when they join the CSU men's team to host Valparaiso at Busbey Natatorium at 2 p.m.
