CHICAGO, Ill. - Cleveland State jumped into a fifth place tie with Youngstown State with 97 points during Day Two of the Horizon League Championships at Flames Natatorium at UIC. Wright State continues to lead the meet with 324.5 points.

Senior Marianne Lionell led the way with a seventh place swim in the 50 free in 24.50. The effort was her best of the season in that event. Junior Deanna Raedel also registered team points in the 50 free, placing 14th with a time of 25.10.

CSU placed fifth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:03.72. Sophomore Jen MacLauchlan led the way in the lead leg with strong backstroke splits.

Cleveland State was sixth after the first day of the league meet.

"As close as we swam with Youngstown State during the season, we expected to be about equal with them," head coach Mike Lehto said. "We have a lot of people swimming in multiple events in the coming days, so I think we'll be good for the rest of the meet."

The league meet continues Friday with the third day of action starting at 10:30 a.m.
