CSU Steady In Third Day Of Horizon League Championships

CHICAGO, Ill. - Cleveland State maintained a tie for fifth in the Horizon League Championships standings, pulling even with Youngstown State with 166.5 points during the third day of the league meet at Flames Natatorium at UIC. Sophomore Jen MacLauchlan had the best swim of the day for the Vikings, placing sixth in the 100 back with a time of 1:00.00. She also placed 11th in the 100 fly (1:00.51). Senior Marianne Lionell clocked a 1:07.48 to finish seventh in the 100 breast. Sophomore Kristine Bunker scored points in the 400 IM with a 4:54.24 and sophomore Alexandra Bagi tied for 14th in the 100 fly (1:02.52).
Junior Deanna Raedel and freshman Eileen Bringman also tallied team points. Raedel placed 14th in the 100 breast (1:09.52) while Bringman clocked a 1:03.27 to place 14th in the 1:03.27 in the 100 back. "Individually, we had a good time and swam some good times," head coach Mike Lehto said. "Hopefully, we can score some points and make up some ground in the final day."
