NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The men's and women's swimming teams kicked off the 2005-06 season by competing in the Dennis Stark Relays on Friday, Oct. 7. Hosted by Notre Dame, the meet was comprised of 18 different relay events, including novelties such as crescendo and mixed relays. Cleveland State, which brought a very small squad, finished sixth on the men's side with 70 points and seventh in women's action with 46 points.

"Overall, I was very pleased with our effort," CSU head men's coach Wally Morton said. "This was the first time we swam yards all year -- we've been concentrating on fitness in practice and swimming long-course meters. We know that we have a lot of room for improvement in the next two weeks as we get ready for our first dual meet."

The Vikings will officially open the dual meet portion of their schedule on Oct. 22 as CSU hosts Horizon League foe UW-Green Bay at 1:00 p.m. in the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium.
