ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - A short-handed Cleveland State squad lost, 171-53, at defending Atlantic 10 champion St. Bonaventure on Saturday (Nov. 4). With the loss, the Vikings fall to 0-3.

Swimming without senior Marianne Lionell and sophomore Jen MacLauchlan, CSU fell behind early and couldn't come back.

"We knew this meet would be tough for us anyway, but not having Marianne and Jen really hurt us," head coach Mike Lehto said. "Our lineup was completely restructured and we just didn't have enough people to keep up."

Sophomore Deanna Raedel placed second in the 200 breast (2:38.60) and third in the 200 free (2:06.40) to lead the Vikings.

"She has been learning some new swims and her progress has been encouraging," head coach Mike Lehto said. "She had some nice times today."

Junior Lesley Jones also swam well, placing second in the 100 free with a time of :57.93   and third in the 50 free at :25.93. Sophomore Katie Bellew swam to a second place finish in the 200 fly (2:18.47) as well.

The Vikings return to the Busbey Natatorium on Friday, Nov. 10 when the host the Cleveland City College Meet at 3:00 p.m.
