Swimmers Host Final Home Meet Of The Season Friday

Feb. 6, 2002

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland State men's and women's swimming and diving teams host their final home meet of the season Friday when the University of Illinois-Chicago visits Busbey Natatorium for a 4:00 p.m. showdown with the Vikings.

With a victory on Friday, the men's team would move to 11-2, its best record since going 14-4 in 1996-97. This season also marks the fifth time in his 21 years of coaching that Wally Morton has taken his team to more than 10 wins.

The men conclude their regular season at Notre Dame on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

The women's team looks to equal its 1998-99 tally when it went 9-5 - its best in eight seasons under coach Mike Lehto.

Both teams will look to finish their exciting seasons on winning notes when they head to Chicago for the Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships on the weekend of Feb. 27-March 2.
