Netters Earn Split On Trip Through Indiana

Cleveland State (6-7, 0-3 Horizon League) split a pair of matches over the weekend, defeating IPFW 4-2 before falling at Butler 7-0.

Saturday in Fort Wayne, the Vikings dropped the first singles match, then rallied to win the nesxt four. Senior Fatima Martin (Brown Deer, Wis./Brown Deer), senior Erin Johnson (Amherst, Ohio/Marion L. Steele), freshman Rebekah Bicksler (Bellville, Ohio/Mansfield Christian) and sophomore Amanda Cerny (North Olmsted, Ohio/North Olmsted) all posted straight-sets victories for CSU. The doubles matches were not completed.

Sunday, Butler blanked the Vikings, dropping only nine games en route to winning all nine matches.

CSU is in action again when it travels to Florida Mar. 9-16 for its Spring Break trip.
