CLEVELAND - The Viking women's tennis team continued to build on its most successful season in school history, edging out Wright State 4-3 at Malaga Tennis Center on Sunday (April 10) afternoon.

Cleveland State improves to 13-9 on the year and 3-1 in the Horizon League.

Sophomore Morgan Ungerott clinched the deciding point at No. 3 singles, winning a gutsy 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 match over Laura Culbertson.

The doubles team of Ungerott and Sarah Galon continued its domination of opponents by claiming their 12th win in their last 14 matches. Lindsay Sellers and Marcella Capozziello rallied back from a 7-5 deficit at No. 3 doubles to win at 9-8 (1) and clinch the doubles point.

Rebekah Bicksler scored a quick 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles and Galon battled for a 7-6 (3), 6-2 win at No. 1 to set up the clincher for Ungerott.

"Morgan really battled today," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "She was a little flat in the second set, but she kept focused and really performed well in a pressure situation."

The Vikings resume play next weekend when the welcome Butler to Malaga Tennis Center on Saturday (April 16) beginning at 10:00 a.m. before hosting UIC at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday (April 17).
