ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - Cleveland State defeated Detroit, 5-2, in women's tennis action this afternoon at the Rocky River Racquet Club. The match was the final regular-season contest for both squads as they prepare for the MCC Tournament Apr. 27-29 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Detroit picked up the doubles point to start the match, but the Vikings stormed back to win five of the six singles matches. Freshman Irina Strembitsky (Eastlake, Ohio/Mayfield) improved to 6-0 with a win at No. 1 singles, while Brandy Cera (Lorain, Ohio/Admiral King), CSU's lone senior, earned a win at No. 3 in her final home match.

The Vikings will find out their first round opponent for the MCC Tournament when brackets are released on Monday.
