CLEVELAND - Cleveland State (1-4) defeated IPFW (2-3) 5-2 in women's tennis action Saturday at the Malaga Tennis Center. The Vikings won their final home match of the fall despite playing with only five people.

In doubles action, sophomore Irina Strembitsky (Eastlake, Ohio/Mayfield) and senior Fatima Martin (Brown Deer, Wis./Brown Deer) posted an 8-0 win at No. 1. Senior Erin Johnson (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst) and junior Audrey Shade (Grosse Ile, Mich./Grosse Ile) then won 8-2 at No. 2 to claim the doubles point.

At No. 1 singles, Strembitsky improved her career record to 13-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Martin and Shade recorded straight-set victories at No. 2 and No. 4, while freshman Rebekah Bicksler (Bellville, Ontario/Mansfield Christian) blanked her opponent at No. 5.

CSU is in action again this Saturday (Oct. 20) when it travels to Robert Morris.
