CLEVELAND, Ohio – After clinching their third straight Horizon League Regular Season title in the regular season finale last week, the Cleveland State volleyball team has earned the top seed in the upcoming Horizon League Tournament and will serve as host for the 2017 championship. The tournament will run from Friday, November 17 through Sunday, November 19 in Woodling Gymnasium on the Cleveland State campus.
This will be the third straight season that the Vikings will be hosting the Horizon League Tournament, and the fifth time under head coach Chuck Voss.
Along with the Vikings, Oakland (No. 2), IUPUI (No. 3), Green Bay (No. 4), UIC (No. 5), and Northern Kentucky (No. 6) also earned a spot in this year's tournament.
Action at the 2017 tournament will begin on Friday (Nov. 17) with a pair of first round matches. At 3:00 p.m. No. 3 IUPUI will take on No. 6 Northern Kentucky, while No. 4 Green Bay will face No. 5 UIC at 6:00 p.m.
Top-seeded Cleveland State and No. 2 Oakland will begin play on Saturday (Nov. 18), after earning byes into the semifinals. At 3:00 p.m. Cleveland State will take on the lowest remaining seed, while Oakland will face the highest remaining seed at 6:00 p.m.
The championship match of the 2017 Horizon League Tournament is set for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19.
There will be live video and live stats available for all five matches throughout the tournament.
