Volleyball Tabbed Fifth In #HLVB Preseason Poll

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League released its 2019 Volleyball Preseason Poll Wednesday afternoon, with Cleveland State tabbed to finish fifth in the competitive nine-team league.

The Vikings return nine letterwinners from last year's team, including All-League honorees Trinniti Hall, Emily DeGeorge, Hannah Greene, and Christina Grecol. This group will be joined by eight newcomers for the 2019 campaign, including seven true freshmen.

2019 CLEVELAND STATE VOLLEYBALL ROSTER

Cleveland State will be under the direction of head coach Chuck Voss, who returns for his 20th season with the Vikings. Voss has tallied 354 career wins at Cleveland State as the all-time winningest coach, while he has also guided the Vikings to 10 straight winning seasons entering the 2019 campaign.

2019 CLEVELAND STATE VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE

The Vikings will begin the 2019 season at the Panther Challenge this weekend, facing No. 12 Pittsburgh (Friday, August 30), South Carolina (Saturday, August 31) and Cincinnati (Saturday, August 31).

This weekend's two-day tournament will kickoff an 11-match non-league slate for the Vikings, while Cleveland State will open Horizon League play at IUPUI on Friday, September 27.
