INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the second time in as many weeks, Cleveland State senior libero Maggie Bonomini has been honored as the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week.

The Cincinnati, Ohio native picked up the award after helping the Vikings to a 2-2 week during the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 6.

Bonomini averaged 4.13 digs (62 total) in the four matches last week, adding 0.87 assists and 0.27 aces per game.

She began the week with a 13-dig effort at Robert Morris on Tuesday (Sept. 1) and followed that performance with 15 digs and two aces in a 3-1 loss to 20th-ranked Michigan State on Friday (Sept. 4).

In a five-set win over Syracuse on Saturday (Sept. 5), Bonomini recorded 26 digs, one shy of equaling her career-high, to go along with a career-best seven assists. She concluded the week with eight digs against Michigan State, marking the first time this season she did not reach double-digit digs.

The Vikings will return to action on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 11-12) when CSU plays three matches at the VB Rags Western Carolina Invitational.
