CSU Spiker Earns Horizon League Volleyball Honors

CLEVELAND - Cleveland State's Michelle Iafigliola (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) has been named the Horizon League's Player of the Week, it was announced today.

Iafigliola enjoyed an outstanding weekend in the friendly confines of CSU's Woodling Gymnasium during the Cleveland State Invitational. The junior was named all-touranment after leading the Vikings to a 3-1 mark during the two-day event.

The 5-10 outside hitter pounded out a match-high 17 kills to go along with a match-high 17 digs to lead the Vikings to a 3-1 victory over Niagara on Friday afternoon. In the nightcap, a 3-0 win over Oakland, Iafigliola knocked down a match-high 16 kills while hitting a stellar .577. She also recorded a match-high 16 digs.

In a 3-0 sweep of Canisius on Saturday, Iafigliola notched four service aces to equal a career-high and added 10 kills and four blocks. She concluded the tournament with match higs of 19 kills and 20 digs (one shy of her career high) to go along with two service aces and three blocks in the 3-2 loss to Towson in the championship game.

Iafigliola averaged 4.13 kills, 3.87 digs and 0.60 aces per game for the tournament.
