CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State remains at home this weekend when the Vikings host a pair of Horizon League matches in Woodling Gym. The weekend begins on Friday (Oct. 2) when CSU hosts UIC at 7:00 p.m. and concludes with a 4:00 p.m. contest against Loyola on Saturday (Oct. 3). "It was good to be back home on Tuesday night and will be nice to get to play some league matches at home this weekend," head coach Chuck Voss said. "This is an important weekend for us because so many teams are bunched in the standings after the first two weeks of league play. We have had some brilliant stretches of play this season and need to stay mentally tough and focused. "Offensively, I think we have several options and when we are clicking on all cylinders, I feel that we are a tough team to stop. Defensively, we have continued to be strong at the net and with our backrow ball control and passing. That has allowed us to get into our offensive system." The Vikings are coming off a 3-0 sweep of Eastern Michigan on Tuesday (Sept. 29) night to improve to 12-5 overall (2-1 HL). UIC is 7-9 overall and 2-1 in league play, while Loyola is 8-8 overall and 1-2 in the Horizon League with a Friday night match at Youngstown State on its slate. Livestats will be available for both matches via Gametracker on www.CSUVikings.com, while both matches will also be video streamed live through the Horizon League Network.
