Cross Country Opens Season At Tommy Evans Invitational

AKRON, Ohio - Shariah Pratt paced all Cleveland State runners as the women's cross country team opened the season with a fourth-place finish at the Tommy Evans Invitational on Saturday in Akron.

Pratt finished 22nd overall on the day, posting a time of 21:13 for the 5K course. Tina Peric was the second Viking finisher, coming in 26th place with a time of 23:15. Julene Nickoloff finished 26th in 23:20, with Vanessa Anna finishing 28th in 23:46. Marlene Przykling finished 29th in 23:58, and Leah Kenner rounded out the Viking runners, ending 30th in 27:25.

Akron's Morgan Sulzener was the individual winner on the day, finishing with a time of 18:13, to lead the Zips to the team title. Buffalo finished second, with Kent State finishing third.

Cleveland State returns to action on Sat., Sept. 13, at the Mel Brodt Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green.
