The Cleveland State women's cross country team opended its season Saturday at the Brodt Invitational in Bowling Green, Ohio. Although Jennifer Ricica did not run due to medical reasons, four others runners finished the race for the Vikings.

Ricica's absence forced Cleveland State to run with just four runners, eliminating them from placing in the competition. Julene Nickoloff recorded the best time for the Vikings with a 22:05. Vanessa Anna and Shilah Pratt finished behind her at 24:16 and 24:43 respectively, and Marlene Przykling also competed, turning in a 27:40.

"The first meet is over and now we can see where we stand," said first year head coach Allison Had. "We see where we want to be and now we have to get there."

The Lady Vikings will continue their fall schedule with a meet against Toledo on Saturday, September 18th in Toledo.
