ATHENS, Ohio - The Cleveland State cross country team placed third of four teams at the Ohio University Invitational on Saturday morning.

Cincinnati won the event and was followed by Ohio, CSU and Alderson Broaddus of Philippi.

For the fourth consecutive race, CSU freshman Allison Craine was the top Viking finisher as she ran a 19:21 and placed 10th overall.

"Allison ran a tough race today," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "It was really hot and the humidity was up, so overall, I was happy with our results."

Sophomore Alison Ohliger was CSU's second finisher as she ran a 20:18 in her second competitive race of the season to notch a 21st place showing. She was closely followed by sophomore Julie Piotrowski who ran a 20:30 en route to a 23rd place showing.

Sophomore Colleen Conway (26th; 21:00) and freshman Jordan Hoile (32nd;21:49) rounded out the scoring for the Vikings.

Juniors Audrey Piotrowski (22:20), Melisa Mazanac (22:55) and Amy Salzman (24:55) were the final CSU runners to cross the finish line. Piotrowski placed 35th, while Mazanac was 38th and Salzman 42nd.

The Vikings will return to action next Saturday at the Earlham Invitational.
