"There were over 300 runners in the race and it was definitely tight at the beginning and there was some pushing and shoving going on, but they all made it through, including a few setting personal-bests. We had a tough week at practice and they really pushed through their comfort zone today in the race. I'm very proud of how they ran in the final tune-up before the Horizon League meet."
The five PR's came from Maddie Korak, Angela Kirila, Ashley Berlin, Amanda Kalain and Kate Roark today, led by Korak who placed 96th in a time of 20:35. Kirila placed 143rd overall in 21:06, Berlin recorded a time of 21:57.12 (201), Kalain posted a time of 22:10 (215) and Roark finished in 23:23 (271). Sophomore Tori Holt was CSU's top finisher at the WC Fall Classic, as she finished 28th overall in a time of 19:30. Ashley Lydic was the second Viking to cross the line, finishing in a time of 20:09 and a 65th place finish overall. Katie Webb posted a time of 20:25 to place 84th, while Megan O'Keefe finished in 21:57.76 (203) and Rachel Niemi crossed the line in 22:35 (237).
