CLEVELAND -
The Cleveland State women's cross country team will travel to Delaware, Ohio, for the All-Ohio Championships on Friday, October 10. The Vikings will be running competitively for the final time before the Horizon League Championships, which will be held in Boardman, Ohio, on November 1.
Last Time Out
Shariah Pratt (Wickliffe, Ohio) captured the best time and place for the Viking runners this season, finishing 20th at the Ohio Invitational on Sat., Oct. 4. Pratt finished in a team-season-best time of 20:27.17, breaking her old mark by 10 seconds for 5K. Tina Peric (Euclid, Ohio) was again the second finisher for the Vikings, placing 62nd. Also running at the Ohio Invitational were Vanessa Anna (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Joseph Academy) in 65th, Marlene Przykling (Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada) in 69th, Shilah Pratt (Wickliffe, Ohio) in 70th, and Leah Kenner (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) in 72nd.
Season Bests
An obvious sign of improvement in cross country is the dropping of times on the season, and several Viking runners have seen a significant drop in their best marks over the course of the season. Tina Peric ran her best time of the season on Sept. 20 at Toledo, while both Shilah and Shariah Pratt posted their best marks of the year on Oct. 4 at the Ohio Invitational.
Up Next
The Vikings will try to improve on last season's ninth place finish at the Horizon League Championships on Nov. 1, in Boardman, Ohio.
