Champions for Life is a mentoring program that connects business leaders with Cleveland State University student-athletes as mentors (Champions) who will support and encourage the student-athletes’ academic, professional and personal growth. Champions from diverse industries and professions provide student-athletes real-life opportunities to explore various careers while helping student-athletes enhance their social, communication and leadership skills. The Champion’s for Life program is a powerful tool to help CSU student-athletes make the successful transition from college to the professional world.
The Champions for Life program provides Champions and student-athletes the opportunity to interact through five touchpoints during the academic year.  All of these activities are monitored and approved through CSU’s NCAA Compliance Office, and include:
·         An introductory dinner for Champions and student-athletes where goals of the Champions for Life program and NCAA rules regarding Champions and student-athletes interactions will be discussed.
·         A dinner at the Champion’s home.
·         A tour of the Champion’s workplace.
·         A campus visit by the Champion.
·         A CSU athletic event outing for the Champion and student-athlete.
