Krusinski won seven of the nine individual races he contested across three dual meets this past week. He was a perfect 3-for-3 in first-place finishes against Miami (Ohio) and in the first dual at UIC. In his 3-for-3 effort against the Flames, Krusinski won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke by at least two full seconds. He also swam on two winning relays during the week and added a pair of second-place individual finishes.
Lindsay Ward hit a go-ahead single in the eighth inning and Kelly Hysong went 4-for-5 with two RBIs leading Cleveland State to a 9-6 Horizon League victory over Northern Kentucky in game two of a doubleheader on Saturday.
Cleveland State senior Riley Ries has been named to the 2019 Horizon League Softball All-Academic Team as selected by the league’s faculty athletic representatives and announced by the league office on Friday.
With its postseason hopes hanging in the balance, Cleveland State will travel to Northern Kentucky for a three-game Horizon League series beginning on Friday (May 3).
